Description:

Safety arrangements of a strategic bridge

This 270-metre pre-stressed concrete beam bridge spans the M40 motorway, the main access road to Madrid for motorists arriving from the North. A number of factors convinced the manager to implement preventive monitoring of the structure - poor bearing capacity of the soil, significant incline of the deck, innovative construction method. The client did indeed wish to ensure the safety and optimization of the maintenance of the structure. OSMOS monitoring operations revealed that the parameters studied (bending, bending stresses, impact of the traffic), remained within an acceptable amplitude interval.
